Charlotte von der Lancken studied a master’s in industrial design at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Desing in Stockholm form 1998 to 2004, where she also took an exchange year at the Elisava Barcelona School of Design and Enigneering in 2003.
After graduation von der Lancken founded the Front Design Studio together with fellow students Sofia Lagerkvist, Katja Pettersson and Anna Lindgren. In 2015 von der Lancken left Front and started her own studio CVDLAB in Stockholm where she works with clients such as Mooi, Tom Dixon and Kartell. Since 2004 von der Lancken has been the recipient of several awards and prizes, both as a part of Front Design Studio and in here own name, where the Guldstolen for the wastepaper basket Bin in 2007, the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg prize in 2010, the Red Dot Award – Best of the Best in 2014 and the Design S prize in 2016 are the most prolific.
Von der Lancken has also had solo exhibition and been part of group exhibitons both in Sweden and abroad. In 2019/2020 she was a part of the Female Traces exhibition with Front Design Studio at the Museum for Furniture Studies in Stockholm.
Charlotte von der Lancken is represented at Swedish National Museum of Fine Arts, the Röhsska Museum of Arts and Crafts in Gothenburg, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Vitra Design Museum in Germany and the Museum of Modern Art both in New York and San Francisco.
