Christine Schwarzer studied at what today is the Aalto University School of Art, Craft and Design in Helsinki and the Royal Danish Academy of Arts in Copenhagen. After her graduation in 1999, Schwarzer founded her own design studio from where she has since worked with companies such as Blå Station, Swedes and Svenssons i Lammhult.
In 2001 Schwarzer moved to Ho-Chi-Minh in Vietnam where she worked for a year with a Danish company. Together with designer Anne Birgitte Balle, Schwarzer also runs the company RoomMate designing children’s furniture. In 2007 RoomMate received the Design Plus Award.
Schwarzer has participated in several exhibitions in Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. In 2019/2020 she was represented at the Museum of Furniture Studies in Stockholm with the coffee table Flower for Swedese. Flower is made of laminated wood and stem like legs in chromed steel wire.
