Emma Wikner studied wood-oriented crafts at HDK-Valand Campus Steneby from 2016 to 2018, whereafter she continued at Ölands Folkhögskola until 2019.
From 2019 to 2022, Wikner studied a bachelor's in interior architecture and furniture design at Konstfack, University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. For her degree project Vita Sannar, Wikner took inspiration from a water formed sand pattern from the bottom of the Lake Vänern. Using a photograph of the wave pattern transformed into a 3D-program she programmed a CNC machine to mill the pattern in MDF-board. The parts were then assembled into a cabinet. The wave pattern is milled on all sides of the cabinet, which shows Wikner's masterful work in matching the design pattern.
The cabinet Vita Sannar was shown at the Ex-Works 2022 exhibition at the Museum of Furniture Studies.
