Eva-Johanna Isestig studied the world unique master’s program in Child Culture Design at HD-Valand Academy of Design and Craft at Gothenburg University. Prior to that she studied interior architecture at the same school, and after graduation Isestig worked at White Architects and CASEstudio. From her own design studio Isestig works with child culture designs for several public and private clients.
Together with interior architect Jenny Fingal Isestig has driven the project Den som väntar…VADÅ VÄNTA!? (eng. The one who waits…WHAT DO YOU MEAN WAIT!?) from 2015. Together with children and young adults in the age 4-19 they have examined how waiting rooms should been designed to create a safe, fun and interesting place to wait.
One of the results from the project is the sofa Du & Jag (eng. You & Me) with two seats on two different levels launched by NC Nordic Care in 2018. If the child sits on the higher seat, they will be on the same level as the adult, but the lower one is easier to climb up to.
In 2019-2020 Du & Jag was a part of the exhibition Female Traces at the Museum of Furniture Studies.
