Before started studying her bachelor’s program in product design at Beckmans College of Design Felicia Mebus studied free art at Idun Lovén, crafts at Vårdinge By Folkhögskola and design and architecture at Nyckelviksskolan.
Her degree project from Beckmans, a high children’s chair was named Helga. The work was an exploration of the child's notion of space. The chair, with its playful base was designed so that the little ones, who are closer to the floor, better can empathize with the piece of furniture.
Mebus’ investigations have resulted in a design concept for a preschool toddler group, with the Helga highchair at its centre. The prototype of Helga was produced in collaboration with the Swedish company Swedese.
In 2022, Mebus was a part of the EX-WORKS 2022 exhibition at the Museum of Furniture Studies with her project Helga.
