The objective of Gergely Kovacs’ degree project from HDK-Valand Campus Steneby, named 1220 x 2440 was to elevate and celebrate standard sheet materials and encourage a reassessment of the values these everyday materials manifest. Kovacs wanted to advocate further inspection of what is often hidden from our view, what may easily go unnoticed but is replete with value, be its material or conceptual.
Gergely Kovacs has continued his studies with a master's in wood-oriented furniture design at HDK-Valand Campus Steneby, while also working from his own design studio Tre Gunter.
The project 1220 x 2440 was a part of the Ex-Works 2022 exhibition at the Museum of Furniture Studies in 2022.
