Henrik Kjellberg studied interior architecture and furniture Design at HKS, National College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Oslo as well as a bachelor and masters degree in the same subject at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm from 1993-98. In 1996 he studied a bachelor’s in environmental design and furniture design at Parsons School of Design in New York.
While at Konstfack Kjellberg met Jon Lindström with whom he founded the Stockholm based design studio o4i (short for office for ideas) in 2005. o4i has designed both public and domestic furniture for international clients such as IKEA, Blå Station, Gärsnäs, de Nord, Fritz Hansen, and Dune NY.
Their work has received several awards including IDA International Design Awards (2007), Red Dot Awards (2005,2020, and 2021), the HIP award 2020, the Good Design Award (2005), the Excellent Swedish Design (2000) and the I.D Magazine Distinction Award (2001). The o4i studio is represented at the Museum of Furniture Studies with the Dent chair from 2014.
