In 1971 Hellström designed the steel-tube chair Paris together with Kurt Bernström. The chair was designed for the Swedish Embassy in Paris and produced by Lammhults. In 1988 Hellström designed the chair S 600 for Klaessons. It is made of galvanized steel, a rubber seat and a back made of laminated teak, designed for out- and in door use in cafés. It was launched together with a table with a stone slap. S 600 is a part of the collection at the Museum of Furniture Studies in Stockholm.
Jerry Hellström founded the store concept Designtorget together with architect John Hamberg in 1993. The business idea was to help their designer friends to reach the market during the financial crisis. When a space in the ground floor of the Stockholm House of Culture was available, they rented it and created a space where designers could exhibit and sell their products. Designtorget turned out to be a success and is today owned by the store-chain Åhléns. During the 1990’s Hellström started a design collaboration with the company Nola and has since then worked as a freelance architect and furniture designer.
