Jesper Ståhl obtained a master’s degree in design from the Royal College of Art in London in 1994. Since then, Ståhl has designed furniture, kitchen supplies, lighting, and electronics for Scandinavian companies such as Design House Stockholm, Vedum, Byarums Bruk, Materia, Fagerhult and Lystra.
Together with Karl Malmvall, Ståhl designed the Wick chair, inspired by traditional Swedish wooden baskets, for Design House Stockholm in 2016. The chair is a part of the collection at the Museum of Furniture Studies in Stockholm.
Ståhl has received several major design awards, including the Red Dot Design Award (2013), Design S: Lighting Product by Svensk Form (2018), and Best Design of the Year by Plaza Interiör Magazine (2019).
