At HDK-Valand Campus Steneby, Palmer made the project Xylographic furniture, in which he investigated how to give objects a story to tell, using ornament in furniture design. Palmer developed a process using woodblock printing to its full extent. Traditionally only used to produce prints, Palmer turned woodblocks to became raw material to be used in furniture design. The result was a strong aesthetic and narrative quality which elicits an emotional response from the user.
Pieces from Xylographic furniture were a part of the Ex-Works 2022 exhibition at the Museum of Furniture Studies.
