In 2008 she began a bachelor’s in interior architecture and furniture design at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. Her graduation piece, the T-shirt chair, was made with a metal-wire frame with rags made of used t-shirts as the back and seat. In 2011 Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair the chair received the Green Furniture Award. Westerberg also studied textile weaving at the Friends of Handicraft in 2015.
In 2008, Westerberg founded her own design studio in Stockholm where she mainly works with upcycling. Since then, Westerberg has a.o. designed the Diamond Lamp collection for American producer Antropholigies, a magazine holder for Karl Andersson & Söner, and furniture such as the Pocket chair and Flower chair. She also works on interior design projects for private and commercial clients.
Westerberg has also worked with public art and was the host of the TV show Junk at the Swedish children’s channel Barnkanalen in 2012-2013. In 2019, Westerberg was represented with the T-shirt chair at the Female Traces exhibition at the Museum of Furniture Studies.
