Mika Lindblad studied a bachelor’s in design at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm from 2017 to 2020, whereafter she began a masters in spatial design at Konstfack University of Arts, Craft and Design in Stockholm.
As her graduation project from Beckmans, Lindblad designed the easy chair and sofa Pinot in collaboration with the company Swedese. Pinot is entirely free from polyether, completely relaying on the authentic properties of wood and leather to create a comfortable construction, made with restoration and disassembly in mind.
Pinot was a part of the Ex-Works exhibition in 2020 and was chosen for the Dezeen Awards Longlist in competition with over 4 300 entries from 85 countries. From her own design studio in Mika Lindblad works both with product design and interior architecture and has collaborated with a.o. Svenskt Tenn and Mitab while also working as scenographer at film productions.
