Per Sundstedt graduated from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts, and Design in Stockholm 1964, whereafter he founded his own studio. Sundstedt designed lightings for manufacturers such as Kostalampan, Ateljé Lyktan, Fagerhult and Zero. Of Sundstedt’s most well-known designs, one can mention the cylinder-shaped sheet metal lamp Candela for Kostalampan and the table lamp Mars for Atlejé Lyktan.
Together with Bengt Källgren, Sundstedt designed the lamps Spotty, Cyklo, and Trix from 1987-96. For Trix Sundstedt and Källgren was awarded the Excellent Swedish Design award in 1989. Sundsted also designed the lighting for Berzeli Park in Stockholm.
In the early 1980's Sundstedt started his collaboration with the furniture manufacturer Akuma, resulted in a.o. the side table Trillan and the shelving system Profil. In 2003 Sundstedt designed the rocking stool Ving for which he was awarded the Furniture of the Year Award by Sköna Hem. The ving stool was produced by Pyra.
Per Sundstedt passed away at the age of 61 in 2003.
