Ralf Lindberg studied at Nyckelviksskolan in Lidingö from 1982 to -83 and at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design from 1983 to -88. During his studies he worked with stage design at SVT and the Stockholm City Theatre.
For the company Gärsnäs, Lindberg has designed several well-known pieces such as the Tati chair (made while Lindberg still studied at Konstfack) in 1988 the Doktor armchair in 1995 (a modern version of the Åkerblom chair by Gunnar Eklöf in 1949), and Bird chair in 2001.
In 1988 and 1990 he received the Forsnäs Prize and the following years he was given several major awards, including the Excellent Swedish Design and Guldstolen for the chair Torso produced by Materia in 2000.
Ralf Lindberg is one of the founders of D2 Arkitekter in Stockholm. He is represented at Sweden National Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Furniture Studies in Stockholm and at the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg.
