Staffan Holm’s breakthrough as a furniture designer came in 2009 when he won the Nordic Design Prize for the coffee table Newton made by Karl Andersson & Söner. The table was also the winner of the Swedish EDIDA furniture of the year award by Elle Magazine. The later Holm also received in 2014, for the Grace armchair and in 2017 for the Udon armchair.
In 2010 Holm designed the three-legged stool Spin, made of laminated ash wood and inspired by Alvar Aaltos design, but with a leg construction that made it completely unique. Holm showed the stool at the Salone Satellite, Milan Furniture Fair where Swedese spotted it and decided to put it into production. At the Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2011 Swedese launched the Spin stool to the international market, and during the same year Spin received the Furniture of the Year Award by magazine Sköna Hem.
In 2012 Holm was the guest of honor at the Salone Satellite and one year later he was the recipient of the Bruno Mathsson Prize. Holm received the Wallpaper Award in 2017 and 2018, for Redeed table and Kumiko cabinet. In 2019 he was honored as the Designer of the Year by magazine Residence.
In 2018-19 Holm had a solo-exhibition called Presens at Vandalorum in Bruno Mathsson's home town Värnamo.
