Born in Heidelberg in 1965, Jeannette Altherr studied industrial design in Darmstadt from 1985 and in Barcelona from 1988. In 1989 she started collaborating with Argentinian designer Alberto Lievore and two years later the two founded the design studio Lievore Altherr Molina in Barcelona, together with Spanish designer Manel Molina.
In 2016 the studio evolved into Lievore + Altherr Désile Park that works with product design and development, as well as strategic consulting, art direction and architecture for companies such as Arper, Andreu World, Vibia and North.
The iconic Catifa chair series is one of the internationally most well-known design made by Lievore Altherr Molina for Italian company Arper in 2003. With the Catifa chair Lievore Altherr Molina introduced a double-colored plastic seat shell, which came to be wide spread on the international market.
Jeannette Altherr was a part of the Female Traces exhibition at the Museum of Furniture Studies in 2019/2020.
