MDM Talks #10: An interview with Adrian Bursell

In this episode, we talk with the designer Adrian Bursell. In 2020, Adrian graduated from Konstfack, University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. For his graduation project, Sticks & Stones: Souvenirs from Öland, he designed a side table called "Lilla Alvaret". Inspired by the woodworking technique "intarsia" and with the help of waterjet cutting, he decorated the table with small stones and sticks found on the shores of Öland.

This interview is part of a series of talks called Ex-Works Reconnect. In this series, we interview design graduates from different Swedish Design Colleges. We talk about the Swedish education system, collaborations, and what it´s like to work as a new designer in the furniture industry. All interviewed designers have been featured in Möbeldesignmuseum´s exhibitions Ex-Works 2020 or Ex-Works 2022.
