New Exhibition: 1970s.

The Museum of Furniture Studies’ new exhibition was opened on April 24, 2021. The exhibition shows in a pedagogic manner the development of the Swedish furniture culture during an eventful decade. From the late 60's rebellious view of design, colorful plastic objects to rustic pine furniture in oversized dimensions. With increasing environmental awareness, the craft received a renaissance. KF launched a collection of basic furniture– simple, functional and neutral. Deliveries to the public sector became increasingly important and Swedish furniture exports grew rapidly.  The exhibition highlights a number of the most recognized 1970s icon furniture side by side with more forgotten objects. Short interviews with people active in the 70s complete the show.
